Akamis Bio develops cancer-killing viruses, given into a vein, that are built to carry extra immune-stimulating genes into tumours. It is focused on bowel cancer, first in locally advanced rectal cancer.
Akamis Bio develops T-SIGn therapeutics: intravenously given, tumour-selective oncolytic adenoviruses (based on a chimeric group B adenovirus, enadenotucirev) that carry transgene payloads into tumour cells. Its lead programme, NG-350A, encodes a secreted CD40 agonist antibody and is being tested with chemoradiotherapy in mismatch-repair-proficient locally advanced rectal cancer in the phase 1b FORTRESS trial (NCT06459869), which the company says is fully enrolled with topline results expected in the first half of 2027; the company reports an FDA Fast Track designation for NG-350A in this setting. NG-348, which encodes membrane-bound CD80 and an anti-CD3 single-chain antibody fragment, completed a phase 1 study in advanced epithelial tumours and is listed for metastatic colorectal cancer. A third, undisclosed programme uses T-SIGn to support CAR-T therapy in solid tumours with an undisclosed partner. In December 2024 the company announced $60 million in funding linked to a Series A Prime round led by Sedgwick Yard and a licence granting Xuanzhu Biopharma Greater China rights to NG-350A. The company has offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Oxford, UK.
