Overview
Alexandria Venture Investments is the strategic venture capital platform of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE: ARE), the Pasadena-based life science real estate investment trust founded in January 1994 by Joel Marcus and Jerry Sudarsky (Wikipedia). The venture arm invests small, non-lead amounts across a large number of life science companies, many of them tenants of Alexandria campuses, spanning oncology and other therapeutic areas. The are.com venture pages returned an empty body or an Incapsula 'Request unsuccessful' block on every fetch attempt, so the platform's own description, founding year, strategy and named oncology portfolio companies could not be confirmed from a primary source.
