Algen Biotechnologies
Algen uses CRISPR screens read out at the single-cell level, plus machine learning, to find which RNA messages drive cancer and inflammation, and then designs drugs against them.
Overview
Algen Biotechnologies pairs pooled CRISPR perturbation screens with single-cell RNA readouts and machine learning to identify disease-driving RNA programmes, then pursues first-in-class small molecules and RNA-targeting therapeutics against them for cancer and inflammatory disease. It was founded by a bioengineer from Jennifer Doudna's laboratory with a commercialisation partner. Programmes are discovery stage; no clinical candidates or sourced financing rounds are recorded here.
