CTONG is the cooperative group of Chinese lung cancer trialists, founded by Yi-Long Wu, whose trials on EGFR-targeted pills before and after surgery changed practice worldwide.
Overview
Founded in 2007 and based at the Guangdong Lung Cancer Institute, CTONG runs investigator-initiated and industry-partnered lung cancer trials across more than 40 Chinese centres: ADJUVANT-CTONG1104 (adjuvant gefitinib), CTONG1103 (neoadjuvant erlotinib), CTONG1509 (bevacizumab plus erlotinib) and contributions to ADAURA and to domestic PD-1 and TKI registration trials. It is the model for Chinese cooperative groups in other cancers.
