Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital
Home of the Guangdong Lung Cancer Institute, where Yi-Long Wu's group ran the trials that made EGFR-mutant lung cancer a targeted-therapy disease in Asia.
Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, founded in 1946, houses the Guangdong Lung Cancer Institute led by Yi-Long Wu, one of the most influential lung cancer trial groups in the world. Its investigators led or co-led OPTIMAL (erlotinib), CTONG 1104/ADJUVANT (adjuvant gefitinib), the Chinese arms of ADAURA and FLAURA, and studies of neoadjuvant immunotherapy in NSCLC, and founded the Chinese Thoracic Oncology Group (CTONG). Beyond lung cancer the hospital is strong in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and precision pathology, and runs a large next-generation sequencing service for lung cancer.
