EdiGene is a Beijing gene-editing company. It is developing donor-derived CAR-T cells for B-cell lymphoma and solid tumours, runs a screening system that edits genes at scale to find drug targets, and edits RNA inside the body for inherited diseases.
EdiGene (Beijing) Biotechnology was established in May 2015 and focuses on original gene-editing work for cell and gene therapies. Its website describes three platforms: a high-throughput genome-editing screening platform for targeted therapy, MAGIC, an allogeneic cell therapy platform, and LEAPER, an in vivo RNA base-editing platform. The MAGIC pipeline lists allogeneic CAR-T therapies for relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, for solid tumours and for autoimmune disease, and an allogeneic stem-cell-derived therapy. The LEAPER programmes are for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Usher syndrome type II and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency liver disease. The company lists an April 2022 cooperation with Peking University Cancer Hospital.
