Geneos Therapeutics
Geneos builds a personalised DNA vaccine for each patient from the mutations in their own tumour, injected into the skin with a small electrical pulse so the immune system learns to attack the cancer.
Overview
Geneos Therapeutics develops personalised neoantigen immunotherapies on its GT-EPIC platform: a patient-specific DNA plasmid encoding up to 40 tumour neoantigens is given intradermally with electroporation together with a DNA-encoded interleukin-12 adjuvant. The GT-30 phase 1b/2a trial tested GNOS-PV02 with pembrolizumab in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, reporting a 30.4 percent overall response rate in 23 evaluable patients (2022), eight of 34 patients reaching complete response, complete molecular response or secondary resectability (2023), and in April 2024 that its primary and a secondary efficacy endpoint were met. In September 2025 the company reported liver cancer and glioblastoma patients treated with its monotherapy reaching five years of recurrence-free survival, and plans a phase 2b trial. Geneos has raised a USD 10.5 million Series A (2019), USD 12 million A1 (2021), USD 17 million A2 (2022) and USD 5 million A3 (2023).
