GORTEC is the French head and neck radiotherapy and oncology group, an association founded in 1999 that runs the academic trials behind much of the standard of care in head and neck cancer, including TPExtreme and NIVOPOSTOP in OnCo.

GORTEC (Groupe d'Oncologie Radiothérapie Tête Et Cou) is a French association created in 1999 by five founding centres (Clermont-Ferrand, Nancy, Nantes, Tours and Villejuif) to coordinate clinical and biological studies in head and neck cancer; its website gives more than 225 physician members, trials of phase 3 (the majority), 2 and 1, and a founding role in the Intergroupe ORL labelled by the Institut National du Cancer since 2012. Its office is at 4bis rue Emile Zola, Tours. ClinicalTrials.gov registers it as Groupe Oncologie Radiotherapie Tete et Cou, an OTHER-class sponsor, and names it lead sponsor of both trials recorded in OnCo: TPExtreme (NCT02268695, phase 2, docetaxel, cisplatin and cetuximab against the EXTREME regimen in recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma) and NIVOPOSTOP (NCT03576417, phase 3, nivolumab added to postoperative chemoradiotherapy in high-risk head and neck cancer). It has no products of its own.
