Overview
NRG Oncology, based in Philadelphia, is the US cooperative group formed in 2014 by the merger of NSABP, RTOG and GOG, and it runs radiation, breast, gynaecologic and central nervous system trials within the NCI National Clinical Trials Network. It co-led OlympiA with the Breast International Group and AstraZeneca, the trial that put adjuvant olaparib after surgery for BRCA carriers, and the RTOG prostate radiation trials whose slides trained ArteraAI Prostate; NRG-GY018, the HPV-positive de-escalation studies NRG-HN002 and NRG-HN005 and OUTBACK are also in OnCo, with Bernard Fisher, Charles E. Geyer Jr. and Lori J. Pierce among the people linked. OnCo connects it to bottlenecks on slow enrolment and on surgery and radiotherapy getting the least trial money.
