Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University
Georgia's only NCI comprehensive cancer centre, a leader in multiple myeloma and EGFR-mutant lung cancer trials.
Founded in 1937 and NCI-designated in 2009, Winship achieved comprehensive status in 2017 and is Georgia's only NCI comprehensive centre. Sagar Lonial's myeloma programme has been central to daratumumab and other anti-CD38 and immunomodulatory drug development; Suresh Ramalingam led the FLAURA trial that made osimertinib the first-line standard in EGFR-mutant lung cancer. Kevin Kalinsky led RxPONDER, which defined which node-positive, HR-positive breast cancer patients benefit from chemotherapy. Winship opened a dedicated cancer tower at Emory Midtown in 2023 and runs one of the South's largest phase 1 units.
