The US gynaecologic oncology trials organisation whose GOG-3000-series trials with industry brought immunotherapy into endometrial and cervical cancer.
Overview
The Gynecologic Oncology Group was founded in 1970 as an NCI cooperative group and merged into NRG Oncology in 2014; the GOG Foundation continues as an independent organisation running industry-partnered trials through GOG Partners and supporting NRG's gynaecologic portfolio. GOG-0218 established bevacizumab in first-line ovarian cancer, and the GOG-3000 series includes RUBY (dostarlimab, GOG-3031), NRG-GY018/KEYNOTE-868 (pembrolizumab, GOG-3041), KEYNOTE-A18 (GOG-3047) in cervical cancer and MIRASOL (mirvetuximab, GOG-3045). It is a founding member of the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup and partners with ENGOT groups such as GINECO. Most US gynaecologic oncology fellowships train through GOG sites.
