Guardian Bio
Guardian Bio turns a patient's stem cells into dendritic cells, the immune system's teachers, trains them against that patient's tumour and gives them back to restart the immune attack.
Overview
Guardian Bio is developing a dendritic cell therapy platform: patient-derived stem cells are differentiated into therapeutic dendritic cells, loaded against multiple antigens from the patient's own tumour and reinfused to activate cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells. The rationale is that dendritic cell dysfunction in cancer patients limits the effect of other immunotherapies. The company is preclinical with a very small team; no sourced financing rounds are recorded.
