Overview
Immuneel Therapeutics is a private cell and gene therapy company based at Narayana Health City in Bengaluru, formed to make CAR-T therapy affordable and accessible in India. Its lead product, varnimcabtagene autoleucel (IMN-003A, brand Qartemi), is the Indian version of ARI-0001, the academic CD19 CAR-T developed at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona and approved in Spain under the hospital exemption. Immuneel ran IMAGINE, the first industry-sponsored CAR-T trial in India, a phase 2 study in relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies reported at ASH 2023 and in Hematological Oncology, and Qartemi received CDSCO market authorisation for relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma in 2024. The company won Endpoints' most promising biopharma start-up and APAC cell and gene therapy start-up awards in 2023.
