Signet Therapeutics is a Shenzhen company that uses lab-grown tumour models and AI to find new targeted cancer drugs. Its lead drug, SIGX1094, is aimed at diffuse gastric cancer and is in an early trial in Beijing.
Signet Therapeutics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. started on the Harvard University campus and moved to Shenzhen at the end of 2020, according to the company; its founder and chief executive Haisheng Zhang was a postdoctoral fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Adam Bass is a co-founder. It combines patient-derived organoid disease models with AI to discover small-molecule targeted drugs. Its lead programme SIGX1094, which the company describes as the first targeted drug for diffuse gastric cancer, has US FDA and Chinese NMPA investigational new drug clearances and FDA orphan drug and Fast Track designations, and is in a phase 1 trial at Peking University Cancer Hospital; SIGX2649, a pan-TEAD inhibitor acting on the Hippo pathway, received FDA IND clearance in May 2026. The company states it has raised nearly CNY 300 million in financing and project grants, including a CNY 80 million Series A in January 2026 from investors including XtalPi and Songhe Capital. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06739291, a phase 1 study of SIGX1094R in advanced solid tumours in Beijing, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in December 2024.
