AVL-101 is a DNA-based therapeutic HPV vaccine from Beijing Xunsheng Biomedical Research, with Beijing Anweituo Biomedicine Co., Ltd., subsidiary and trial sponsor as partner. A therapeutic HPV vaccine, not a preventive one: the company says it works by activating cytotoxic T cells that recognise and clear cells carrying HPV16/18, aiming for regression of the lesion and clearance of the virus. Its furthest stage is phase 1, for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2/3 (CIN2/3) caused by HPV16/18 (a cervical precancer). No clinical trial naming it is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. Phase 1 site initiation meetings held 9 July 2026 (Tianjin Medical University General Hospital) and 30 July 2026 (Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences), per company news. It has not been shown to work in people.
