Tempus' tumour test that reads the protein-coding part of every gene, with possible inherited findings reported from a limited list.
Tempus xE is a whole-exome panel of more than 19,000 genes sequenced from DNA, reporting potentially actionable and biologically relevant alterations and tumour mutational burden. Sequencing of a matched normal sample keeps somatic variant calls accurate, and potential germline findings may be reported from a limited set of 110 genes chosen from ACMG recommendations, NCCN guidelines and published literature; Tempus states that xE is not a validated germline panel and that these findings should not be used to diagnose hereditary cancer risk. It needs a specimen with at least 40% tumour content after macrodissection, and it can be ordered alone or in combination with Tempus xR.
DNA sequencing of the whole exome, more than 19,000 genes, from tumour tissue with a matched normal sample used to tell tumour-only changes from inherited ones.
