The US charity for every type of blood cancer, known until 2025 as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: free one-to-one support and clinical-trial help for patients, research grants and financial assistance.
Blood Cancer United is the name the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society took in 2025; its own about page says "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is now Blood Cancer United" and calls the change an evolution, not a new beginning. It began in 1949 as the Robert Roesler de Villiers Foundation, started by the parents of a 16-year-old who died of leukaemia in 1944, became the Leukemia Society of America in the 1960s and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2000. It states that it has invested more than $2 billion in research, describes itself as the largest nonprofit funder of blood cancer research, and offers personalised support that includes help finding and enrolling in clinical trials. Its stated goal is that people with blood cancer gain more than one million years of life by 2040. The IRS Business Master File lists revenue of about $359 million for the tax year ending June 2025.
