Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the main US blood-cancer charity, unusual for running its own precision-medicine trials (Beat AML, PedAL) and investing directly in biotech, alongside co-pay assistance and one-to-one information specialists.
Founded 1949. LLS funds ~$1.7 billion in research to date, runs Beat AML (genomic-assignment master trial that showed rapid genomic testing is feasible in AML, Nat Med 2020) and the paediatric PedAL/LLS Dare to Dream project, offers Information Specialists, the Clinical Trial Support Center (nurse navigators), co-pay assistance (>$500 million distributed), and advocacy on drug costs and oral parity. Its patient booklets cover every leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and MDS/MPN.
