Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre

aka ONJ Centre, Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute, Austin Health

Melbourne's Austin Hospital cancer centre and research institute, a hub for early-phase immunotherapy trials and for the Ludwig Institute lineage in tumour immunology.

The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre opened at Austin Health in Heidelberg, Melbourne, in 2012, and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (a La Trobe University school of cancer medicine) grew out of the Melbourne branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, which produced landmark tumour immunology and antibody work under Andrew Scott and Jonathan Cebon. The centre runs one of Australia's busiest phase 1 units for immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates, hosts a leading molecular imaging programme (antibody PET, FAPI and PSMA imaging), and combines cancer care with a wellness model that includes exercise and supportive therapies. Its investigators have led international trials in gastrointestinal cancers, melanoma and glioma.
