Peking University Cancer Hospital

aka Beijing Cancer Hospital, Beijing Institute for Cancer Research, 北京大学肿瘤医院

Beijing's dedicated cancer hospital and the leading Chinese centre for gastric cancer trials, where claudin 18.2 CAR-T and PD-1 combinations were first tested in gastric disease.

Founded in 1976 as the Beijing Institute for Cancer Research, the hospital is Peking University's cancer centre and a national key clinical speciality in gastrointestinal oncology, gastric surgery, lymphoma, melanoma and sarcoma. Lin Shen's GI oncology department has led or co-led the pivotal Chinese trials of PD-1 antibodies in gastric and oesophageal cancer, the first-in-human claudin 18.2 CAR-T study (satricabtagene autoleucel with CARsgen), and early ADC programmes. Jun Guo's melanoma group defined the biology and treatment of acral and mucosal melanoma, which dominate in East Asia. The hospital runs a large phase 1 unit and the Beijing cancer registry.
