It describes itself as a 501(c)(3) of survivors, family members and health professionals (tax ID 52-2169434), dedicated to support, education and communication, and it sponsors Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month, year-round awareness activities and research grants. It is among the patient advocacy partners listed by the Rare Cancer Research Foundation. The IRS records it in Olney, Maryland, with tax exemption issued in November 1999.
