Vivek Subbiah
Early-phase trialist who led the study showing dabrafenib and trametinib work in BRAF-mutant anaplastic thyroid cancer, the first approved treatment for that disease, and many of the RET inhibitor trials.
Overview
Vivek Subbiah ran early-phase trials at MD Anderson Cancer Center before becoming chief of early-phase drug development at Sarah Cannon Research Institute in 2023. He was first author of the 2018 Journal of Clinical Oncology report of the ROAR basket trial cohort in which dabrafenib plus trametinib produced responses in most patients with BRAF V600E-mutant anaplastic thyroid cancer, the basis of the first approval for the disease, and a lead investigator of the LIBRETTO and ARROW trials of selective RET inhibitors.
