UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center

aka Moores Comprehensive Cancer Center

San Diego's NCI comprehensive cancer centre, where the anti-GD2 antibody dinutuximab and the ROR1 antibody behind zilovertamab were developed.

NCI-designated since 1978 and comprehensive since 2001, Moores sits at the heart of the La Jolla biomedical cluster with the Salk Institute, Sanford Burnham Prebys and Scripps. Alice Yu led the Children's Oncology Group trial that established the anti-GD2 antibody dinutuximab in high-risk neuroblastoma. Thomas Kipps's CLL laboratory generated the humanised anti-ROR1 antibody (cirmtuzumab, UC-961) that became the targeting arm of the ADC zilovertamab vedotin. The centre also runs a large precision-oncology and phase 1 programme and hosts the Sanford Stem Cell Institute.
