Carien L. Creutzberg
Led the PORTEC trials that defined who needs radiotherapy for endometrial cancer and brought molecular classification into treatment decisions.
Overview
Carien Creutzberg led PORTEC-1, -2 and -3, the Dutch trials that established vaginal brachytherapy over external beam radiotherapy for intermediate-risk endometrial cancer and tested chemoradiotherapy for high-risk disease, and pioneered the integration of the TCGA molecular classification (POLE, MMRd, p53abn, NSMP) into the PORTEC-4a trial and ESGO-ESTRO-ESP guidelines. She co-leads the RAINBO platform of molecularly directed adjuvant trials.
