Elizabeth A. Mittendorf
Surgeon-scientist who led IMpassion031 and studies of surgery de-escalation after neoadjuvant immunotherapy.
Overview
Elizabeth Mittendorf led IMpassion031, showing neoadjuvant atezolizumab plus chemotherapy raises pathological complete response in TNBC regardless of PD-L1 status, and ran the early HER2 peptide vaccine trials. As a breast surgeon she leads Alliance trials asking whether axillary surgery and radiotherapy can be omitted after excellent neoadjuvant response. She directs breast immuno-oncology at Dana-Farber.
