Breast cancer specialist who leads Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital, and who previously ran breast oncology at Dana-Farber for more than two decades.
Overview
Medical oncologist appointed Director of Yale Cancer Center and Physician-in-Chief of Smilow Cancer Hospital on 1 February 2022, after leading the breast oncology programme at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he was Chief of the Division of Breast Oncology and Chief Clinical Strategy Officer. His research has focused on the treatment of breast cancer, in particular HER2-positive disease, de-escalation of therapy for lower-risk patients and the design of adjuvant and neoadjuvant trials through the Alliance cooperative group and Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium. He served as President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology for 2022-2023.
