Jong-Mu Sun
Korean oncologist who was lead author of KEYNOTE-590, the trial that added pembrolizumab to first-line chemotherapy for advanced oesophageal cancer.
Overview
Jong-Mu Sun is a medical oncologist at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul. He was first author of the 2021 Lancet report of KEYNOTE-590, which showed that pembrolizumab plus cisplatin and fluorouracil improved overall survival compared with chemotherapy alone in untreated advanced oesophageal cancer, the basis for pembrolizumab's approval in this setting. He also runs thoracic oncology trials.
