Yuichiro Doki
Japanese surgeon who was lead author of CheckMate 648, which established nivolumab-based first-line treatment for advanced oesophageal squamous-cell carcinoma.
Overview
Yuichiro Doki is professor of gastroenterological surgery at Osaka University. He was first author of the 2022 New England Journal of Medicine report of CheckMate 648, which showed that nivolumab plus chemotherapy and nivolumab plus ipilimumab both lengthened survival compared with chemotherapy alone in untreated advanced oesophageal squamous-cell carcinoma. He has led Japanese surgical and perioperative trials in oesophageal cancer.
