Overview
Maike Sander is Scientific Director and Chair of the Board of the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association, Berlin. Her research uses stem-cell-derived pancreatic islet organoids and organ-on-chip systems to understand beta-cell development and failure in diabetes. As head of the MDC she oversees its molecular medicine portfolio, including its cancer research programmes.
