Erin K. O'Shea is President of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the largest private funder of academic biomedical research in the United States, whose investigators include many leading cancer biologists. Previously HHMI's Chief Scientific Officer and a Harvard professor, her research addressed signalling and gene regulatory networks in yeast and cyanobacteria.
