Silvana Konermann

Silvana Konermann is Co-Founder, Executive Director and a Core Investigator of the Arc Institute, an independent research institute she started with Patrick Hsu and Patrick Collison after the three collaborated on Fast Grants. She is also Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Stanford, holds a PhD in neuroscience from MIT, and has been a Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Investigator and a Hanna Gray Fellow of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Her laboratory uses CRISPR-based transcriptome engineering and functional genomic screens in brain cell models to uncover the molecular pathways behind Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.
