Overview
Karolina Palucka (MD, PhD) is Director of the JAX Cancer Center and holds the Edison T. Liu Endowed Chair in Cancer Research at The Jackson Laboratory, where she is a professor based in Farmington, Connecticut. Her laboratory works on human immunology and experimental immunotherapy, including dendritic cell-based vaccines for cancer and HIV, and uses single-cell genomics to understand immune cell mechanisms. The JAX Cancer Center has been an NCI-designated basic laboratory cancer centre since 1983, one of only seven in the United States, focuses on the genetic and genomic mechanisms of ageing-related inflammation and cellular dysfunction in cancer, and earned an 'exceptional' rating on its most recent Cancer Center Support Grant renewal.
