Overview
Matthew Hurles is Director of the Wellcome Sanger Institute and a Senior Group Leader there. His own research focuses on identifying disease-causing genetic variants in developmental disorders through large-scale sequencing studies such as Deciphering Developmental Disorders. As Director he oversees the institute's programmes including cancer, ageing and somatic mutation genomics.
