R. Angelo de Claro

Angelo de Claro is Director of the Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE), the US Food and Drug Administration centre that coordinates the review of oncology products across the agency, a role he has held since March 2025 alongside a dual appointment as Deputy Office Director in the Office of Oncologic Diseases. A haematologist-oncologist, he joined the FDA in 2010 as a medical officer, became a team leader in 2012 and a Division Director in the Office of Oncologic Diseases in 2019. He has led OCE's global clinical sciences programme since 2019, including coordination of Project Orbis, and was instrumental in launching the Real-Time Oncology Review programme. He trained at the University of the Philippines and completed fellowship training at the University of Washington.
