Overview
Sandra D'Angelo was principal investigator of SPEARHEAD-1, which showed the MAGE-A4-directed TCR T-cell therapy afamitresgene autoleucel produces durable responses in synovial sarcoma and led to its 2024 approval, the first engineered T-cell therapy for a solid tumour. She also led the JAVELIN Merkel 200 trial that won avelumab approval in Merkel cell carcinoma and leads cellular therapy trials in sarcoma at MSKCC.
