Patrick Schöffski
Leuven oncologist who led the trial that showed eribulin lengthens survival in advanced liposarcoma, the basis of the drug's approval for that disease.
Overview
Patrick Schöffski heads general medical oncology at UZ Leuven and chairs the EORTC soft tissue and bone sarcoma group's early-phase work. He was first author of the 2016 Lancet report of the phase 3 trial in which eribulin improved overall survival compared with dacarbazine in previously treated advanced liposarcoma or leiomyosarcoma, with the benefit concentrated in liposarcoma, leading to eribulin's approval for that indication.
