Michael Yu (Yu De-Chao)
Michael Yu founded Innovent in Suzhou in 2011 and made sintilimab one of China's best-selling cancer drugs before turning the company into a supplier of new medicines to Roche and Takeda.
Overview
Yu earlier co-invented Oncorine (H101), the world's first approved oncolytic virus (China, 2005), and the anti-VEGF conbercept; at Innovent he built an integrated antibody company with sintilimab, four biosimilars, the CAR-T eque-cel partnership, KRAS G12C inhibitor fulzerasib and the IBI363 and IBI343 programmes licensed to Takeda in 2025.
