A trial that gives trastuzumab deruxtecan to people with HER2-positive or HER2-low breast cancer whose blood shows the cancer returning before anything is seen on scans.
SURVIVE HERoes (NCT06643585) randomises 180 planned patients from the SURVIVE surveillance study whose ctDNA turns positive to trastuzumab deruxtecan for 16 cycles (with endocrine therapy if hormone receptor positive) or physician's choice. ctDNA is measured with the RaDaR assay, and the primary endpoint is ctDNA clearance 12 months after randomisation. Patients are selected by the HER2 status of their original tumour, not by testing what has come back. The registry lists primary completion in April 2032.
