Overview
ClearNote Health (formerly Bluestar Genomics) is a San Diego epigenomics company whose Avantect tests analyse cell-free DNA in plasma with a proprietary platform that captures epigenomic changes, combined with machine learning, to detect cancer signal in high-risk groups. The Avantect Pancreatic Cancer Test targets people with new-onset diabetes and other risk factors; an Avantect Ovarian Cancer Test and a multi-cancer detection programme are in development. The pancreatic test runs from a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory, received a first in vitro diagnostic approval in July 2025 and a UK approval in September 2025, and validation data were shown at AACR, DDW and ASCO in 2026. In May 2026 the company closed a $52 million Series D led by founding investor Mattias Westman, with Sandy Weill and Stephen Quake participating, for over $185 million raised in total.
