iLeukon Therapeutics makes ILKN421H, an mRNA medicine given into a vein that makes the body produce a modified form of interleukin-2, an immune signal that boosts cancer-killing T cells. It is being tested with pembrolizumab in advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
iLeukon Therapeutics, Inc., at 6393 Nancy Ridge Road, San Diego, California, is a clinical-stage company developing interleukin-2 based mRNA therapies for cancer; its website also refers to the company as Cytimm, which co-founder Haining Huang is described as co-founding in February 2020 as a spin-off of ACEA Therapeutics' immuno-oncology division. Its lead product ILKN421H is a lipid nanoparticle mRNA drug, given intravenously, that encodes a fusion of human serum albumin with a non-alpha IL-2 variant that binds IL-2 receptor beta and gamma but not alpha, intended to activate CD8 T cells and NK cells without expanding regulatory T cells. The company says investigator-initiated trials of ILKN421H alone or with pembrolizumab began in 2023 (first in human in August 2023), and its pipeline lists a US IND with a phase 2 protocol for ILKN421H plus pembrolizumab in first-line and post-immunotherapy non-small cell lung cancer (October 2025) and a combination with a CD19 in vivo CAR-T. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT07452224, a phase 2 study of ILKN421H with pembrolizumab in advanced NSCLC, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in March 2026. Its chairman, Henry Ji, co-founded Sorrento Therapeutics.
