A US company making pills that block or break down cancer-driving proteins. Its drugs are in early trials for kidney cancer, liver cancer, hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer and other solid tumours.
NiKang Therapeutics develops small molecules for oncology targets, using structure-based drug design. NKT2152 is an oral HIF2-alpha inhibitor tested in a Phase 1/2 study in advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma (NCT05119335, now terminated) and, in collaboration with Roche, with atezolizumab and bevacizumab in first-line hepatocellular carcinoma in the MORPHEUS-Liver platform study. NKT3964 is an oral CDK2 PROTAC degrader in a Phase 1 study in advanced solid tumours (NCT06586957), now enrolling CCNE1-amplified endometrial cancer, and NKT5097 is an oral CDK2/CDK4 dual degrader in a Phase 1 study alone and with endocrine therapy in HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer (NCT07029399). The company's timeline states it was incorporated in July 2017 and raised a $10 million Series A (December 2017), a $50 million Series B (September 2020) and a $200 million Series C (May 2021), and lists collaborations with Erasca (SHP2), Pfizer, Hansoh and Roche (HIF2).
