Perceptive Advisors

Perceptive Advisors was founded in July 1999 by Joseph Edelman and is headquartered at 51 Astor Place, New York (Wikipedia; company site). Its strategies are the Perceptive Life Sciences Fund (public and crossover investing), Perceptive Credit Opportunities (structured debt for healthcare companies), Capital Solutions and the Perceptive Xontogeny Venture Fund. The venture page says the firm launched its first venture fund in 2018 and a second in 2021, 'manage[s] over $700 million of capital dedicated to financing early-stage life sciences companies', targets seed and Series A rounds of $10 to 50 million and takes technologies 'from preclinical stage through clinical proof-of-concept'. Recent investments named there (Crystalys Therapeutics, Mercy BioAnalytics, Galvanize, Myoventive, Merida Biosciences) are not described as oncology, though Mercy BioAnalytics works on blood-based cancer detection. Perceptive is nonetheless one of the most frequent crossover investors in oncology IPOs.
