Atlas Venture dates from 1980 (Wikipedia) and today describes itself as 'creating and building breakthrough biotechs for over 30 years', with an in-house incubator that has launched 92 start-ups and produced 43 IPOs and 39 M&A exits according to its homepage. It leads seed and Series A rounds, often forming companies around a single academic insight.
