Radiomer Therapeutics is a Houston start-up building radioactive cancer drugs that use a new kind of homing molecule, part DNA and part protein, to find tumour cells. It planned small imaging studies in patients first, before moving to treatment.
Radiomer Therapeutics was launched in May 2024 by Fannin Partners, the Houston life-science company builder, with undisclosed pre-seed funding. It uses Fannin's Raptamer platform, peptide-oligonucleotide hybrids built on a single-stranded DNA backbone decorated with peptide-like side chains, as targeting ligands for theranostic radiopharmaceuticals. The launch release named breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and head and neck cancers as areas of interest and said lead programmes were expected to complete phase 0 imaging and dosimetry trials in cancer patients in the first quarter of 2025, followed by therapeutic programmes. Atul Varadhachary, Fannin's managing partner, is CEO.
