Therapixel
Therapixel's MammoScreen software uses artificial intelligence to point out suspicious areas on mammograms and score how likely they are to be cancer, helping radiologists in the US and Europe read screening exams.
Overview
Therapixel, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Nice with offices in Paris and Chicago, develops MammoScreen, an AI reading aid for screening mammography that detects suspicious lesions and calcifications and assigns a malignancy likelihood score. MammoScreen received FDA 510(k) clearance for 2D mammography in July 2020 (K192854) after a multi-reader multi-case study showing improved radiologist detection, and for digital breast tomosynthesis in November 2021; version 2.0 added prior-exam comparison in 2022 and the product is CE marked. A prospective study of AI within second reading in the French screening programme began in October 2022. In 2025 the company announced deployment across more than 150 Onsite Women's Health locations and adoption by Mayo Clinic. A EUR 15 million Series B closed in May 2022, co-led by Crédit Mutuel Innovation and CapHorn, for over EUR 20 million raised in total.
