A human ferritin cage, activated by tumour proteases, that carries the topoisomerase I inhibitor Genz-644282 into cells with the CD71 receptor, aiming to avoid the toxicity of other CD71-targeted drugs. Its furthest stage is phase 1, for small cell lung cancer, colorectal carcinoma, pancreatic adenocarcinoma and gastric cancer. ClinicalTrials.gov registers it in one study linked below. Single-centre phase 1 NANOFER-THE-0504 NCT07646106 recruiting. Whether it works in people has not been established unless a trial below reports it.
