A free US navigation service for people with primary brain tumours: nurse and social worker navigators help with records, second opinions, clinical trial searches and day-to-day support.
Brain Tumor Network offers free navigation for people with brain tumours and their families: a matched navigator helps gather and share scans and records, prepare for appointments with specialists, understand clinical trials and biomarkers, and find practical support. Its story page says it was founded in 2014 by Rick and Susan Sontag as an independent sister organisation to The Sontag Foundation, which they set up in 2002 to fund brain tumour research, after Susan was diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma in 1994; it started with one nurse navigator from Mayo Clinic and now has a team of nurse navigators, social worker navigators and support staff. The National Cancer Institute lists it as a partner of its NCI-CONNECT rare brain and spine tumour network. The IRS record places it in Ponte Vedra, Florida, with tax exemption issued in August 2014; its phone number is (844) 286-6110.
