The large Copenhagen University Hospital site at Herlev, opened in 1976, home to one of Denmark's biggest cancer departments and part of the Copenhagen Comprehensive Cancer Center, a full member of the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes.

Herlev Hospital, part of Copenhagen University Hospital (Herlev and Gentofte), opened in 1976 north-west of Copenhagen and runs one of Denmark's largest oncology departments together with haematology, surgery and radiotherapy. Its cancer service takes part in the Copenhagen Comprehensive Cancer Center alongside Rigshospitalet. It is listed as a full member of the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI); its representative on the OECI list is Lisbet Isenbeg Ravn.
