Overview
The Leicester Cancer Research Centre is the University of Leicester's cancer research institute, working with University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, whose oncology services at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Glenfield Hospital include radiotherapy, systemic therapy, haematology and thoracic surgery. The Hope Clinical Trials Facility on the Royal Infirmary site is a dedicated early-phase cancer trials unit funded largely by the Hope Against Cancer charity. Leicester's research is known for lung cancer and mesothelioma, chemoprevention and cancer biomarkers, and it is an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre with the University of Nottingham.
