Macmillan Cancer Support

Founded in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan, the charity funds specialist nurses, allied health professionals and information centres inside the NHS, runs the Macmillan Support Line and online community, gives grants and benefits advice to patients facing financial hardship, and campaigns on cancer workforce, personalised care and the cost of living with cancer. Its research programme focuses on survivorship, the experience of care and the needs of people living with cancer as a long-term condition, and its Living With and Beyond Cancer work shaped NHS England's recovery package.
